Ben the Cook needs help! He has lost his recipe book and he needs a new, healthy recipe.
Luckily, in line with our writing, topic and campaign lessons, Year 2 took a trip to Ridley Road Market. With the generous help from the parents, we bought lots of deliciously, healthy fruit for a bargain!
Then, we used the fruit to make a fruit salad and we have written recipes for Ben to use. So, don't worry Ben. Help is close by!
We have also been learning about the different continents and we have begun to think about why certain foods are grown in certain countries. If you have a child in year 2 and you have lived/worked in a different country, please tell them all about the food and the reasons why it is popular/grown there. i.e. climate/celebrations.
Thinking about how lucky we are to have such healthy food, we have decided to write letters to parents/careers and the Governors to ask them to donate some food that we can then pass on to our local food bank.
If you have any food at all that you would like to share with those less fortunate, please bring to the office or the Year 2 classroom. Year 2 will be using their knowledge on tally charts to monitor the food coming in!
Thank you in advance for your kindness.
