Year 6 Trip to Houses of Parliament

Nightingales and Hummingbirds went to Houses of Parliament.

We went on a tour through the House of Commons and Westminster Hall.

Unfortunately we didn't get to go into the House of Lords.

"I learnt that when you want to talk in a debate you need to stand up, we practiced then by debating.   I agreed and debated the 13 year old's should be allowed to vote" - Jacinta

Seaside Art

Year One have been focusing on the fundamental of Collage this half term. After their exciting trip to the beach at Southend with sketchbooks in tow, they returned to school full of ideas and observational drawings from the beach. 

 

 

 

 

 

These drawing ideas informed their work, we painting paper to recreate the textures we found at the seaside. Then we constructed beach huts from lollipop sticks to layer our work and create background and foreground. Amazing work Year 1, you should be very proud of all you have achieved in Art this year!

Welcome to the Tower of London.

Going back in time to Tudor London

Making our way to the White Tower

It was built by William the Conqueror during the early 1080s.

The White Tower was the castle's strongest point militarily, and provided accommodation for the king and his representatives, as well as a chapel.

Inside the White Tower are the armour of different kings including Henry VIII.
Also this Great beast called the Keeper, who holds important documents and gems.
